 Training courses
Image runs a 60-hour course in Christian pregnancy counselling skills. The course aims to explore the basic counselling skills and information areas needed to help people with problems relating to pregnancy, abortion, post abortion and teenage sexuality from within a Christian framework. Its purpose is to provide a foundation for all those working or seeking to work in Christian pregnancy centres and related areas of ministry. The course is accompanied by a training manual, which will be a valuable resource for individuals, churches and centres.
The course provides accreditation with Open College Network North West, part of the National Open College Network, in Christian pregnancy counselling skills at level one, level two or level three. Levels two and three are also recognised by the Association of Christian Counsellors.
The course runs from January to May each year on one Saturday in each month (a total of five days’ attendance) and includes reading and assessment work.
Image also has a course in post-abortion counselling over four Saturdays. The course uses The Journey, an excellent model produced by CARE.
