Richard Dawkins, the atheist writer, has claimed it is “immoral” to allow unborn babies with Down’s syndrome to live. He made the comment in response to a twitter user who said she would be faced with “a real ethical dilemma” if she became pregnant and learned that the baby would be born with the disorder. Dawkins tweeted, “Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice.” Read more ……

MPs have called for a change to Britain's abortion laws after a baby was aborted only days before it was due to be born. The termination was carried out at 39 weeks under provisions of the 1967 Abortion Act (amended in 1990 by the Human Fertlisation and Embryology Act) which permits terminations up to birth if there is a risk that the child will be born disabled.
